Top 10 Movie Terrific Two's

10.Ghostbusters 1 & 2

I think everyone can agree that both Ghostbusters 1 & 2 were equally epic and hilarious. Just when you thought they couldn't beat The Marshmallow man and a walking Statue of Liberty....well they didn't but Vigo was equally as awesome. Side-note: I had a huge framed picture of Vigo in my old apartment.

9.Pet Sematary The Remake

Ok granted this was not an award winning remake and it had mixed reviews but being the horror fan I am, it was perfect to me. The original Pet Sematary is in my top 20 horror list and likely in the top of any all time horror list but the remake was just as eerie and fresh as the original AND took a different twist ending. Ashley always gives A+ grades for originality and changing up the source material on any film.

8.The Conjuring 1 & 2 / Kill Bill V 1 & 2

The Conjuring can also be found in my horror movie list as well but that aside both films were superb. The first one as I've stated before fresh but traumatizing and 2nd just as equally good. The second one had one of my new favorite horror characters "The Crooked Man" and James Wan has been on the fence for years about giving him his own movie. Wan this is my second attempt to get you to do it! He was so great!

7. It (Remake) Chapters 1 & 2

*Special kudos/acknowledgement for being a great remake and having 2 exceptional films*

6. Evil Dead (Remake) 1 & 2

*Special kudos/acknowledgement for being a great remake and having 4 exceptional films*

5. The Mummy (Remake) 1 & 2

*Special kudos/acknowledgement for being a great remake and having 4 exceptional films*

Mummy-Sommers.jpg

The first Mummy was awesome! It gave us a great Egyptian heritage view and the lead actors were just so charmingly in sync on screen. However the second was epic and actually 100x better than the first. Then there was a more updated 3rd film that moved the adventure to Asia and was equal to or only slightly below the second. THEN there was a Tom Cruise version that was supposed to expand and never did but I actually enjoyed that one as well, so technically this can get kudos for a great remake and 4 cool follow-ups.

4. Jumanji (Remake) 1 & 2

*Special kudos/acknowledgement for being a great remake and having 3 exceptional films*

JC-Jumanji-900x505.jpg

Jumanji was one of the best kids films of all time (thanks Robin Williams for always coming through for us as children). When I heard there was going to be a remake I said please no! I did not want my memories of this great film to be destroyed but thank the good Lord this remake was FANTASTIC. This was one of those rare times in history where a remake was actually better than the original and when you're dealing with a heavy hitter film like this that is very hard to accomplish. To appeal to a new audience and do justice to the original material deserves major applause and then adding a great second film to the remake puts this franchise at the top of the food chain.

3. Oceans 11-13 / 8 (Remake)

*Special kudos/acknowledgement for being a great remake and having 5 exceptional films*

Oceans 12 sits in my top 20 of All Time favorite Films but this entire series was superb. Butt hurt men did everything they could to ruin Ocean's 8 because god forbid women make a movie about themselves being on the same intelligence level or higher than a man...we all know this "should never happen". That being said I love Ocean's 8 just as much as 12 and 11&13 (along with the original) makes this one of the best series of movies to come out in a long time.

2. The Shining/Doctor Sleep

So there were 2 times to date in my life when I went to see a film then immediately after went and purchased another ticket to see it again. The Avengers was the first time and Doctor Sleep was the second. The Shining is again on the top all time horror films list anywhere you look so if they were going to follow it up years later that shit better be superb. Granted Doctor Sleep was not better than The Shining however to me it was equal to and exceeded my expectations. The story and how they continued it from the original was just perfection and this was another film where all the actors were just so phenomenal that this was a psychological film lovers dream. To this day I still don't get the ending of The Shining but at least Doctor Sleep can help me fall asleep at night knowing it was all worth it.

1. Terminator 1 & 2 / Scarface (Remake)

There was no possible way I could decide which one of these legendary movies makes #1 so I picked all 3. Terminator 2 was one of, if not the best part 2 known to man and I do think Genisys should get an honorable mention in that category also. This is also still one of my favorite rides at Universal Studios (side-note). To the opposite of that Scarface the remake with Al Pacino was one of the best films also known to man and a lot of people didn't even know it was a remake. The movie was good/flawless people didn't even bother to look or want to know that there was something before this.
