Outside of Alien Romulus these are some of my top realistic/documented truth-covering films about Alien involvement in human day-to-day encounters.
Signs
This is hands down one of my favorite M Night films and in my top 20 favorite horror/sci-fi films. Crop circles have been around and wondered about for years and can be found all over the world. Many believe they are a navigation system for Aliens to land and study our planet. This film covers a lot of topics when it comes to humanity, family and morale but more importantly for this category gives one of the coolest and realist reactions to alien-life caught on film.
Disclosure Day
This film was utterly perfect, no flaws. For this list of films, i'm not doing what I typically do by praising the cast or the director ...that goes w/o saying for most of these films/shows. It's the content/nature of the information being given in each film that puts the films on this list so high. There are many awesome Alien films out there and that could end up on a different rank list but I carefully picked these films for their closeness to realism and what actually happened at a point in human existence. So many elements of this film are occurrence's that happen to real people (including enhanced telepathic abilities). The cover-up is real and the exposure to truth at some point regarding aliens comes every few years if you are open enough to accept it. The end sequence is one of the best parts of the entire film no doubt.
AHS Double Feature Pt 2
So I'm not sure if someone really really wanted this season to be under the radar or if the truth was painful to watch but this season had another glimpse of insane accuracy when it comes to Alien exposure/cover-up. This was another favorite season of mine (not just part 2 but I also enjoyed part 1) However part 2 was exactly what happen. The Eisenhower administration had so much to cover-up when it came to alien information (back then people were absolutely not ready for that type of information). Trading advanced technology, like microwaves, in exchange for inter-human breeding..yeah ok sounds fake...right? Or is it exactly what happened and sounds just fake enough for you to think it's the plot of a story...you be the judge :-)
Alien Romulus
To be honest I just really enjoyed this film so I added it to the Take me to your leader list. I'm not sure how much realism this one contains BUT Alien Earth (it's tv/streaming counterpart) is likely pretty accurate. This is a glimpse of how things could look for my nieces generation or way beyond that. Space travel will become easier and easier as time and light-years progress but the question will become do we want to actually interact with whatever life we find out there.....
Betty & Barney Hill
So if this category were ranked this would likely be #1 simply because this is the most famous and confirmed/documented Alien abduction case in history. They had evidence, physical proof, lie detector passed and story-synced findings that all lead to this couple truly being abducted by aliens. Betty and Barney hill have had a few documentaries on their case and I'm not sure if there was a major theatrical release yet (but rumor is Coleman Domingo could be tied to a newer version of this case). Sarah Paulson would be my pick for Betty but that Ashley inclusion aside I would love to see this turned into a major film for this generation. I won't get into to much of the details for this one as it is 100% worth watching their story but this was one of my favorite cases in human history.
