Double Feature
For the first time in my double features I have elected to do a movie/streaming cross-over extravaganza. As we start to see more small screen and big screen combination trends I think it's important that the tales of the witches be included in the conversation. The Witches is a beloved Roald Dahl story about the bad kind of witches who hurt children and cause chaos all over the world. One of the Hallo-Queens (Anjelica Huston) plays The Grand High Witch who summons all her evil sisters to plot against the children of the world in such a diabolical yet entertaining slice of cinema perfection. With the helpful minds of the legend himself Jim Henson and Robert Zemeckis this charming tale was always a favorite of mine as a child and by the end we get to see the better side of witches. Riding our brooms over to New Orleans, we get a more updated version of the life of the Modern Witch and her teenage sisters. With no shortage of witch history mixed with modern lore this was one of my absolute favorite seasons of Ryan Murphy's hit series. The rumor is that next year will bring us our 13th and final season so I slightly had another intention of suggesting this one ahead of the curve. One of the witches I want to bring highlighted attention to is Madame Marie Laveau. Not only does Angela Bassett play her flawlessly but I am always allured by her actual story in real life. If you head over to New Orleans today, you can pay respect at her actual grave and she was considered the 'Supreme' witch in real modern day lure of this century. She was also a hue of light for the term 'Good Witch' as shown best in this season and AHS: Apocalypse shown below. Good 'Witches' have a different term and are considered more angelic and closer to God where the bad ones are interpreted in more evil/demonic ways. I think both seasons reflects these differences perfectly and even more so in S8 (Apocalypse) where the battle between good and evil is at it's highest. Gather your Covens and prepare for the battle of Good and Evil with some of the Best Witches on the Block.

Honestly, this is arguably the best season in the entire series (for me) so after you've watched AHS Coven (S3), AHS Murder House (S1) & AHS Hotel (S5) you have to tie it all together with this fantastic season (S8).

Looking for the perfect Haunted House? Every year I do Halloween Horrors at Universal Studios Hollywood or Orlando and let me tell you it is the crown jewel of Haunted Houses. If you love actual horror films and halloween it's a dream come true. The theme is different every year but it really feels like you are walking on the set and experiencing the terror of some of the best horror films ever crafted. Many of the films from my horror suggestions list have been recreated here as well as my favorite show on TV, so enjoy the footage I've collected over the years.....

So you want to be terrified but also prepare your little monsters for the future of horror? I would say Dark Nights is a perfect hybrid for the full family. There are great treats and activities for the little ones but the haunted houses will not disappoint for the brave ones. This may be a little more cavity-causing than Universal (being as though this is the home of all things chocolate) but again if you don't want to leave the kids behind and want the full family experience take a bite out of this park for Halloween for sure!
