6. What If? Season 3
The first two seasons were insane. Season 3 I will say was a great way to end the series and there were 3 episodes that were fantastic. I loved the first episode because I got a glimpse of what an Avengers Vs Godzilla film would look like and although it would make 0 sense it was incredible to pretend. More importantly, the other 2 best episodes were the Shang-Chi and Hawk-eye episode and the very last episode with the Watcher. I'm going to be honest and it may ruin the surprise if this was the plan but I fully believe we will see that episode in real life. It's going to be 6 maybe 7 years down the line after an Avengers Vs X-Men movie but the episode where they need to confront the Watchers to save one of their own is 100% happening. There is no way Marvel would make such an epic episode with no intent to bring it to life....
5. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man
First thing I will give this show full credit for is top notch nostalgia points and staying true to Stan-lee's original / favorite hero. The animation of the show did exactly what it intended to do and made me feel like I was reading each episode straight out of the original comics while still adding some of the funnest moments from the actual MCU. The only major problem I myself had with the show was a huge interest level overall. Personally I think I like a touch of knowing that even the cartoons could come together full scale in a live action way but I didn't get that out of this show. This felt like more of a fan service show than a tie in to anything that could come to life in live action (which again I can appreciate). Some of the content was way too mature for the audience that would be watching (IE the gang related story). Telling those mature stories are important but I don't know if it worked well in the spider-man setting. Now I could be wrong with the live-action part of this and we could see all of the events that happened in this show spiral into what Spider-man 4 will produce and if so Coleman Domingo as Norman Osbourne would make me change this rank list entirely for the better.
4. Eyes of Wakanda
Eyes of Wakanda was a perfect addition to the Black Panther Universe because it allowed us to get some much-needed history of these natives. I want to highlight the last episode which was absolutely mind blowing and fantastic and I would not be surprised if Marvel made that type of plot twist come to life in a live action setting. Something ,like what we saw in the last episode, could come to play in a Secret Wars film or even this entire series could be a basis for black panther 3 but overall the show was fantastic. It was different and it felt a little like a predator film to be honest or something from the Predator universe but in Wakanda.
3. Marvel Zombies
If you have ever seen the animated Montage in Kill Bill volume 1 this feels as beautifully crafted as that Montage was. Marvel Zombies is exactly what I would want a version of a Marvel cartoon to look like meaning it was mature yet gritty and had a great story to tell. Allowing Ms Marvel to be the narrator of this show did her character great justice if they are looking to make her the leader of The Young Avengers (which according to Captain Marvel 2 she is). This one has a lot of longevity to it because you can create a new version of this every year for Halloween and have it be just as fun to see our favorite characters zombified the 2nd & 3rd time as it was the first.
2. What if....? S1 & 2
Season 2: Yet again I place a season on the list in the same spot as the previous because it was truly on par (actually passed) with the first season. In my opinion, Season 2 had multiple good episodes (there was only 2 I didn't care for) and Season 1 had about 3 or 4 stand-out episodes so kudos to season 2. Khaorri was fantastic and I know for certainty they are going to bring her to life for real; there's no way they can't. Her episode was my favorite of all of them followed by the last episode but honestly episodes 6-9 brought the heat for each one. Soon I will create my conspiracy theories geared towards this series to predict which story-lines I think may actually come to fruition. Season 3 was announced and I am so on board and ready for that also! Nice Job/Follow-up Marvel.
Season 1: So let me start by saying I delayed watching this one for MONTHS even after it had already came out and got good reviews. I was convinced this was Marvel's way of keeping us entertained until the real movies and stories returned and boy was that a mistake. I want to highlight my favorite episode which was the Doctor Strange episode (that we may soon come to find out) could be the actual plot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It took some of the theories I THOUGHT I had and turned them completely upside down and got me even more excited for the film then I already was (side-note it may have even been better than the actual Doctor Strange movie). This series was remarkable and I couldn't stop watching each episode and getting even more excited for the possibilities that Marvel could bring us and was likely pre-teasing us to, something they always do!
1. X-Men 97 S1 & 2
Season 2: I had a very difficult debate about which season to put on top because again Marvel was able to replicate greatness in this cartoon creation. I think some of the elements that gave this season an edge was the things I saw and some add on characters that again I think I will see in the future. We need to talk about Polaris!! I have been intrigued with her character for a while and wasn't sure if she was going to actually come to life. Polaris is technically the sister of Scarlet Witch & Pietro...it was interesting to me that they decided to plop her into this series. I have a conspiracy theory as to why that could be (coming soon lol) but for now I will just say I was happy to see her. The training exercise episode gave me Days of Future's Past vibes and that was one of the best X-Men and Comic book movies like ever so I hope Marvel has ambitions of tweaking that material and giving it to us in the live-action X-Men coming in 2028. I loved this season and I do believe we are getting a little sneak peek into some real X-Men material with this show coming to a theater near us. Oh also I would like to put the fan cast of Jaafar Jackson into the Aether as Nightcrawler because I saw it online and now I can't get it out of my head. Work on that german accent my friend because I do believe you could nail the role if given the chance.
Season 1: There was a time when you would wake up for Saturday morning cartoons and just feel so excited for shows like this. Now here we are in the crux of Marvel Disney+ shows and that feeling is back all over again. Putting a twist on Magneto's story was unexpected but welcomed and making all the women of X-men bad ass is insanely appreciated. From the Jean Grey surprise to Rogue's intense episode the show has all the merit's for top show placement. Finally my girl storm is bringing all the thunder, heat, smoke and wind with her awesome character (one of my favorite episodes included her regaining something she lost). Currently this is the highest rated show for Marvel on Disney+ but I can't give it that title on my list just yet. As far as animation however? Yes. This out-paces What If!
